Riad Louna is a lovely restored traditional Riad, more typical than a hotel in the Medina of Fez. In the garden, four orange and medlar trees grow around the central fountain. Cloisters with sculpted pillars surround the garden.
From the arcades four metres high cedar wood doors give access to the suites. A staircase leads to the two terraces from where you can look down on the Riad and the famous Medina.
The Riad abounds with zellige tiling, wood and plasterwork sculpted in the geometric patterns of Arabo-Muslim art. The whole has been renovated by the skilled artisans of Fez, city classed as a world heritage site.
The Riad is close to the main entrance of the Medina, Bab Boujeloud, and the magnificent Bounania Medersa, as well as one of the most beautiful hammams.
You will appreciate the calm atmosphere away from the bustle of the traffic and his cool garden with the soothing tinkle of his fountain. You will discover the traditional Fassi welcome when you enter the Riad with his friendly family feeling. A touch of Belgian humour add to the respected Fassi tradition and the owners will be pleased to make your stay a memorable one. |
